Driver in Myanmar

We are spending 10 days in Myanmar in Feb 2006. From Mandalay we have the intention to visit Inwa, Mingun, Bagan, Inle Lake and so on. Does anybody have the references of a good driver with a good car for a reasonable price ? Thanks in advance

Tubarao-

Because of the price of petrol, drivers are no longer as inexpensive as they once were.

Again, and I suggest this to everyone who is travelign to Myanmar, it is worth getting a licensed, independent (i.e., not answerable to the government) guide in Myanmar. These guides will always be able to get you better prices, better drivers and cars, etc. than doing things independently.

I have extensive experience in Myanmar and am more than happy to give you names and email addresses, etc.

Driver in Myanmar

Hey Tubarao,

I%26#39;ll be in Mandalay next week and I would definitely like a driver, can you recommend any place or anyone?

these days the prices of car is depend on the petrol.

so this is roughly costs.

45$ per day without A/C and for 2 person(Van and saloon)

70$per day with A/C also for 2 person(the same car van or saloon)

so more peoples ,you need 5 seaters and 7 seaters and 9 seaters that will be different prices.

so if you need some more question ,I would like to be ready to answer.

welcome to Burma(Myanmar)

wow, expensive prices. try the hotels. many small hotels know of tour drivers that will charge 40usd for an all day tour in a private car or van. no need to book it, they can be ready the same day.

I found a very good driver in Yangon called Saw

[saww.myanmar@googlemail.com]

Yangon - 539179 ( office )

Mobile - 09-5193365

The company has several cars and drivers and can also make hotel and flight bookings. he driver we had was polite and patient and spoke good English.

We drove to the coast at Ngwe Saung but they also do trips all over the country.
