What is the current situation at the beach areas in Myanmar ?

we are considering Ngapali , does anyone have any recent reports or advice on nice beach areas ?

Sorry-should have mentioned that Ngapali beach was unaffected by Typhoon Nargis.

Andytc - I am sure that Aureum is a perfectly nice hotel. Before you spend your money there (or in any other hotel or airline,) please, please, please do a little research and find out who the owner(s) are.

In some cases there are no options (3 years ago Air Bagan was operating the only flight to Putao, and I try never to fly on Air Bagan) but certainly there are many nice places to stay at Ngapali.

The Aureum looks really nice , but it%26#39;s way out of our budget , we%26#39;re looking for something cheaper , smaller , guesthouse style. I know who would own a place like that and where my money would end up, we avoided them all on our last visit , but we never did the beach areas.

Lin Thar Oo , Royal Beach House, Sliver Beach are around USD 45~70. As far as I know , Lin Thar Oo is cheapest in Ngapali. Then Ngapali Beach, Amazing Ngapali Resort etc.
