Hi,

Can anyone tell me the best way to travel from Yangon to Ngapali - we%26#39;ve looked at Air Bagan and Air Mandalay - but can%26#39;t book tickets online directly. Is it easier to book in Yangon?

The best way to travel from Yangon to Ngapali is by air - Air Bagan, Air Mandalay or Air Yangon. You will find it much easier to book in Yangon. I understand getting tickets by booking in Yangon is assured now a days. Which hotel are you staying. Most hotel receptions will help you with the booking.

You can also travel by car, but I would not recommend it.

This season, Yangon Airways did not fly to Ngapali beach.Only Air Mandalay and Air Bagan fly. Air Bagan also fly on season only, from October to end of April only. Air Mandalay fly round the year but reduce flight in monsoon.

You can book in Yangon but sometime, it is full even tourist arrival down this year . Best way is to book advance. Through your travel agent or book once you arrive in Yangon before go otherplace.

Flights can be either full.. due to a large group having booked many seats.. or almost empty.. Recently some friends were on a flight with only 2 other passengers....

During high season it%26#39;s wise to book as early as possible... as suggested by “mgzaymin”.. especially on the air-routes to the lesser serviced destinations ... This becomes imperative, if you are on a tight schedule and/or travel with a family/group..

Generally you get the best deals on tickets when you buy them through an agent or your hotel, once in the country. You may be able to e-mail (or call) and get them to arrange the critical flights for you in advance. The difficulty in booking on line is due to the trade boycott. They are not able to process credit card payments.

I’ve, in the past, been able to make bookings with Mandalay air... and paid them with cash (USD) at their office 3 days before the flight. Not sue if this is still possible or if other airlines have similar arrangements.
