Getting a Myanmar visa in Bangkok?

Could someone recommend a travel agency where I could get a visa for Myanmar. I have heard that using a TA is the quickest method.

If there is a better option, please fill me in.

I have 3 days in Bangkok before I plan on leaving for Yangon.

Thanks,

K

Your best option is to get the visa from the Myanmar embassy in DC, before you leave the states. It may take 3 or 4 weeks at the moment.

Second best option is the Myanmar embassy in Bangkok. Be aware that the fast track option is not available at the moment and by all reports, 3 days is minimum turn around time.

Third option is to get an agent to pre-arrange the visa for you. Be aware that some of these on-line travel agents, in the past have published personal details, including photos and addresses, on line as personal recommendation for their operation, without the consent of their clients.

At the moment the option of walking into a travel agent in Bangkok and ask them to arrange the visa for you, is not available.

Personally, I would not base my travel plans on a hope that you may get a visa without problems in Bangkok.

Getting visa in DC would be a bit tricky to some sources from my friends from CA. You can have a tourist visa in one day express service in the following address. It%26#39;ll be around 50 USD or 1700 Thai Bhat *(actually they quoted everything in their Thai currency.) However it%26#39;s worth a trail asking if they can do this one time again *(as one of my friends got it there last 2 weeks ago joining tours from Lunar Festival at Cambodia)

There is nothing ';tricky'; about getting the tourist visa for Myanmar in Washington DC at the moment. If you send the correct forms and information by express post, it should take 2 to 3 weeks. No problems at all.

As for Bangkok... for foreigners, there is currently no express service. It takes about 3 days.

HI.. friend from online who urgently need the assistant for myanmar visa --%26gt; http://www.myanmarvisaonline.com/

At least three days is required for acquiring a visa. For those in urgent need of a visa, it is issued on a case by case basis.

Entry Visa On Arrival fees of US $ 20 / pax is to be settled to the Immigration Department of the arrival lounge of the Yangon International Airport. The Visa On Arrival processing fee of US $ 35 / pax ( for 1- 3 pax ), US $ 30 / pax

I live in Bangkok and always get my Myanmar visa through my travel agent (Diethelm Business Travel). Doing that, I never have to visit the embassy or fill out any paperwork. It used to be very simple, but since the September unrest, they (the embassy via my travel agent) now ask more background questions. I assume they don%26#39;t want journalists ';sneaking'; in and are screening applicants more thoroughly than previously. But the process still only takes about 3-4 business days, and can probably be done faster if you pay for the express service.

So, according to BlueDragonONline...you can get a VISA on arrival at the airport.

Is that true for Americans?

nothing is certain and perpetual. as somebody said in this topic, you can get a visa even in W.DC so what else you need to worry if we take account on that information. But those who applies Myanmar entry visa should be aware that no reporter, journalist or any media related works should be filled up in your form. Cheers.
