The curfews were lifted. Restrictions with regards to areas that you are allowed to visit have not changed markedly, from before the recent uprising. It would be wrong to say what things are back to normal for visitors at the moment. There%26#39;s a high probability of further demonstrations. Most tour groups have cancelled bookings and as a result there are much fewer tourist around, with the result that some transport option such as boats and flights are cancelled. Prices for transport is increasing. Exchange rate remains pretty much unchanged.

Since you have been last year, nothing is different and back to normal only few tourist due to boycott to Junta. At the result , tourism sector is suffer.

If you wish to help people or if you want to show you care, its time to visit.

I just returnd from 12 days trip in Myanmar: November 13-28/07

Since it was the first time for me I don%26#39;t know what are the changes But i would like encourage everyone to go there.

-We felt very safe everywhere (we are two ladies at the age of 50+).

- The people of Myanmar are the most kind, lovely, honest smiling people that we met .

- We met very few western tourists (especially from Germany).

- The only restriction that we felt was the blocking of web sites like Yahoo, Gmail etc so it was difficult to use emails,BUT there was always somebody who helped us in write emails despite the restrictions.

DON%26#39;T HESITATE TO GO TO MYANMAR.

Internet and e-mail filtering and restrictions are not a new thing. That%26#39;s how it has been all the time. Internet is slow anyway in most places and often not working at all.. While it%26#39;s possible to use it, with a lot of patience and a bit of assistance to work around the filtering, in some areas it%26#39;s so slow that it%26#39;s hardly worth bothering about.

HI

We just back from Myanmar on 12 Dec 2007. Myanmar is safe for sure. I went there with my sister only and travelled by bus and train. Visited Yangon, Inle, Mandalay and Bagan. Fantastic culture, would like to go back so soon. Pity !!only few tourists there !
