Inle - Mandalay Car Trip... costs?

Dear travel colleagues,

does anyone have a good contact for hiring car+driver to take us in January from Inle Lake to Mandalay (via Pindaya caves)? What costs am I looking at (around USD 100?).

Any reply very much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Erik

Inle - Mandalay Car Trip... costs?

Dear Erik,

Average, as I mention you earlier , depend on the car condition and fuel price ,how long you will hire and etc. they usually calculate around 60 USD per day for car hiring . For your Inle lake to Mandalay , they will ask you around that cost (USD 100) because they have to send you Mandalay and back to Inle without passenger . If you can tell me your plan, I may able to suggest your trip .

Meantime, why don%26#39;t you check with ';Mother Land Inn 2 '; www.myanmarmotherlandinn.com for your stay and car hiring. That inn is recommended by so many tourist and lonely planet.

From your post , I guess that you will go to Golden Rock from Yangon and back to Yangon and then fly to Inle.

Thanks mgzaymin for your answer.

You are right, I think the costs would amount to what you suggested. The offers I currently got come from the more up-market hotels.

And you are also right about the trip plan. By car on 2 day trip to Golden Rock, flying out from Yangon to Inle. Have done that before, and find the time gain by flying once reasonable. However, I heard stories about the car costs having gone up significantly due to petrol prices etc.

Ok will stop arranging from home here, and deal a bit when in this beautiful Asian country!
