Does anyone have an email address for contact in Myanmar (Yangon) that I can negotiate for a car/driver for 15 days in January 2009? How much approximately per day can I expect to pay? We are planning on the usual Bagan, Mandalay, Inle Lake etc.

1. You can contact to travel agent in Myanmar for car/driver hire.

2. I suggest you to make your car hire after you have view your car, check the car, aircon or no aircon , for your self and then make a deal.

3. The price depend on the car condition and type of car. The price start from around USD 60 (for saloon, 3 pax) and above per day.

4. If you are lookinf for aircon car, do not forget to confirm that aircon will open on high way as well and not only in town area. Sometime the driver will open for you only in city sight seen and not on the high way. In another words, you can bargain the price if you allowe to s turn off the aircon on high way road.

we contacted travel guides in Yangon for car hire in december. they quoted us price 60/65$ per day for 2 weeks for van (townace/hiace). car with A/C will be 300$ more. if you want send me PM I can give you names/e-mail addresses.

I was in Burma last december for 22 days and we hired a driver /car from Yangon to Mandalay. (We stop in Toungoo for a day to visit an elephant camp)

I was wondering if petrol was included in this 50 USD per day? What about the accomodation/food for the driver, did you also have to pay for that?

Usually, patrol is included and no need to pay for food and accommodation for driver. Mostly toll gate fee also include. However, you should clearify before hand.

you can get good offer from www.myanmartravel.info they have beautiful jeep also.
