Question with Golden Rock day trip..

Hi Guys,

I got the price at 60 USD per person. with air con car... We are 4 people..

The price is just for the Transportation.

I do think it is expensive..

Do you have any idea about this?

Do you know any cheaper??

Please help.

As I mention, without aircon for 4 person will around USD 200/- . So,the price can be but I suggessted that you book your car when you arrive and look at the car first. You can ask to discount more when you are in town since this year is no much tourist. Also , make sure and ask that they have to open the aircond through out the trip. Some time car owner are agrue that they will open your aircon only in town area and not on the high way.

4 pax to Golden ROck in day return? FYI: it doesn%26#39;t make sense or cheaper to do in day trip, since they (car rentals) will quote for 2 days (one way up and one way down - same length of 100 miles). The driver meals %26amp; accommodation will be just around 3000/4000 Kyat and it means 3 or 4 US$ difference.

4 pax, what type of car do they base on? If you are 4 people, using a sedan type saloon, that will be much cheaper. (requesting seat beside driver, and 3 at the rear)

Or if they quote of Toyota - Town Ace mini van, be advised that price will be a little higher but A/C will not work particularly.

Rather you take Toyota - Hi Ace (custom) van, it will be good value for its price.

Princeya: FYI: Myanmar is not the cheap destination like majority of travelers think. If you can travel like local, you can take buses all around, CRAMMED, jam-packed. one consideration when going to Golden Rock: what time of the day do you plan to visit? The very best times to see the rock/boulder are at sunset and sundown. If possible, splurge for a hotel near the top of the mountain (you still have to make a long hike either way) so you can stay and see both times. I took a bus from Yangon; cheap and easy.
