Travel to Mogok

We are planning to go to Myanmar in april and visit Rangoon, Mandalay, Bagan and Mogok. Has anybody been to Mogok? It seems you need a special permission to go there. Can one get this permission in Mandalay? Some tourist firms offer 3 day tours to Mogok from Manadalay (150 miles) for $600. But this is just ridicolous compared to other prices in the country! Are there any other ways to get there cheaper or just buy a permission without buying a tour?

I%26#39;d like to update you guys here re; Mogok trip. Nobody in any tourist firm can do the route any more for no reasons. It has been shut down for about 4 years now. So your attempt to contact with an agency will be a ';waste'; for that.

If that is 600 US$, there will be lot of people going there regardless of price. It is just IMPOSSIBLE. I%26#39;ve been planning to go there for last October, remained unchanged.

mgzaymin, pls update me. are you sure these Myawady Travel and Adventure Travel can make that particular Mogoke trip.

I know Myawady Travel is under Myanmar Economic Holding Ltd. And they couldn%26#39;t arrange mine last year.

And what about Adventure travel, i know they are OK with Deputy Minister of Hotel and tourism, but H.E Aye Myint Kyu was asked by a high ranking leverage person for that trip, and he said categorical ';NO';

Shan Yo ma is a small local agency, I doubt they can. Royal Exclusive is a Thai Agency connected with Shan Yo Ma. So what%26#39;s that all about??

As you know, Myanmar is always change. Tell you the true, I%26#39;m not sure weather they can or can%26#39;t but as I mention, asking for quotation and mail cost us nothing. So , instead of say no, just send mail and find out something.
