Family (2 adults and 2 children) are planning trip to Myanmar for middle december for aprox. 3 weeks. After Myanmar we would like to fly to China (Kunming). We would like to hear your comments about our interiary.

1. Fly from Yangon to Thandwe (Ngapali), stay 5 days; Because there is no flights from Thandwe to Bagan/Heho we have to take bus (hire car) to Pyay/Bagan. Bagan/Inle lake/Mandalay by bus or hire car. From Manadalay we want to fly to Kunming with China Eastern if there are flights.

2. To avoid going by rough road from Thandwe to Pyay we are also considering going by circular route. Yangon/Bagan/Inle lake by bus. From Heho take flight to Thandwe (Air Bagan is showing scheduled flight in winter schedule). Thandwe/Yangon flight. Fly from Yangon or Bangkok to China (Kunming).

Our major concern is that with few tourists around it is possible that Air Bagan will cancell flights Heho/Thandwe; Thandwe/Yangon?? Is it good idea to buy tickets for domestic flights in Myanmar in Bangkok before entering Myanmar. Hopefully by that time we will know which flights will be cancelled??

Day (1).. Arrive Yangon.

Day (2) .. Yangon to Taungoo ..6 hrs drive. Overnight Taungoo.

Day (3) .. Taungoo to Kalaw .. 8 hrs drive. Visit Kalaw and overnight Kalaw.

Day(4) .. Visit Pindaya and drive to Taunggyi. Overnight at Taunggyi.

Day (5) .. Visit Kakky and evening , return to Nyaung Shwe and over night at Nyaung Shwe.

Day (6) .. Visit Inle Lake. Overnight at Nyaung Shwe.

Day (7).. Drive to Mandalay . Overnight at Mandalay.

Day(8) .. Visit Mandalay and Mingun.Overnight at Mandalay.

Day(9).. Visit Sagaing, Amarapura and around Mandalay. Overnight at Mandalay.

Day (10) .. Drive to Bagan. Visit Bagan. Overnight Bagan.

Day (11).. Visit Bagan. Overnight Bagan.

Day (12) .. Visit Popa Mountain. Overnigt Bagan.

Day (13) .. Drive to Pyay. Overnight at Pyay.

Day (14) .. Drive to Ngwe Saung Beach .

Day 15,16,17,18,19,,, Beach

Day 20.. Back to Yangon.

Day 21. Fly back to Bangkok then Kunming.

Proposal (2) If the Airbagan operate Heho-Thandwe flight.

Day 1. Arrive Yangon.

Day 2. Drive to Taungoo.Overnight Taungoo.

Day 3. Drive to Bagan. Overnight Bagan.

Day 4. Visit Bagan.

Day 5. Visit Mount Popa and Bagan.

Day 6. Drive to Mandalay.

Day 7. Visit Mandalay and Mingun.

Day 8. Visit Mandalay and region.

Day 9. Drive to Inle Lake.

Day 10. Inle Lake .

Day 11. Inle Lake.

Day 12. Fly from Heho to Thandwe and enjoy sun, sea and sand.

Day 13,14,15,16,17 .. Enjoy beach.

Day 18..Fly back to Yangon .

Day 19. Fly back to Thailand and proceed to Kunming.

Day 1. Arrive Yangon.

Day 2. Visit Yangon. Overnight at Yangon.

Day 3. Drive to Ngwe Saung Beach.

Day 4,5,6,7, Beach.

Day 8. Drive back to Yangon.

Day 9.Bus to Inle Lake . Overnight at Inle lake.

Day 10. Inle Lake.

Day 11. Inle Lake.

Day 12. Drive to Bagan.

Day 13. Bagan.

Day 14. Bagan and mount popa.

Day 15. Drive to Mandalay.

Day 16. Mandalay , Mingaun

Day 17. Mandalay , Sagaing, Amrapura.

Day 18. Fly to Kunming if the flight available.

Ngapali beach is better than Ngwe Saung. However,the flight is not sure. Air Bagan cancel Ngapali beach flight till this 15 October and we are not sure , they will fly in December too. Air Mandalay also stop flying to Ngapali beach. They give the reason of flight regular check and once the check is completed , they will fly again.

Since you have two children, I suggessted to hire car instaed of bus. The bus from or to Bagan/Mandalay and Inle lake is too bad. So, if you choose that road , better hire car . Do not use bus between these point. Bagan, Mandalay, you may use boats if boats are operated.

Although, the tourist arrival is fall, the flight frequency also reduce. Better make a reservation ahead. I have learn that some flight to or from Bangkok is alrady full on December.

- what is hi-ace(minivan?). aprox. how much it will be to rent it out?

-can you check out with China eastern in Yangon about Mandalay/Kunming flight? it is showing in their schedule but I am not sure if it is running?

-is it good idea to buy tickets for Air Bagan/Air Mandalay in their office in Bangkok before we enter Myanmar. Hopefully by that time we will know which flights are cancelled?

It is the Minivan for about 5~6 person if the seat next to driver is count. Approximate - USD 120 ~150 per day including driver, oil etc. You don%26#39;t need to pay anything except for your entrance fees to the zone.

I will check for you the Kunming flight . However, I will be away from Yangon for about a week and I may not able to come on line for sometime. Today is Sunday and office close.

Suggest to book the tickets in advance either from ailine office or from the agent . Compare the price and make in advance.

With 2 children, do not use the public bus.

Mandalay-Kumine flight is availiable and now ,they fly on Wednesday , Friday, and Sunday. The price one way is 240 USD.

For Ngapali, Yangon-Bagan-Heho -Thandwe flight is availiable this week in some days . So most porperly, they will fly in December too that usually, December have more tourist then these days.
