When you arrive at golden rock, it is the base camp and called ';kinmon sakan'; . From there you have to board to open truck . The truck will bring you to another station (Ya Tha Taung) and there you can get the Seden Chair carried by 4. The price, I am sorry, I didn%26#39;t been there for quiet long, so , I can%26#39;t advise you.

The last time I was at Kyaiktiyo was 2 years ago, and they quoted me 8000 kyats (about 7 US now.) I had no plans to actually take the sedan chair up the mountain. I just asked because I was curious.

Anyway, it should be a benchmark of sorts.

BTW, unless you are physically incapable of climbing, the trip up is exhilarating. So many happy people all going to visit the same place and having to exert themselves in oder to complete th trip. Wonderful experience. A true pilgrimage.
