Tour Guide Assitance

We are travelling to Burma in November 2008 specifically to vist my grandfathers war grave. We had a guide booked through Columbus travel, but since the cyclone have not been able to contact the guide (which we spent months building a repore with) or the travel agency. We are seriously considering not going because of this. Can anyone offer any solutions to our dilemma. My husband says dont go, but I am still in two minds.

I am sure reputable regular posters like mgzaymin will be able to give you a recommendation.

Beware of posters (normally on their first post) recommending a fabulous guide in Myanmar - it is normally a relative!

I have used guides from Asian Trails and Tour Mandalay in the past and never been disappointed.

What ever you do -do not delay your trip.

My wife %26amp; I started to visit Burma some 10 years ago whilst following her fathers footsteps in WWII whilst he was in the REME and fell in love with the country and its people and keep on returning (inspite of the Generals).

Yangon is back to normal for quite long time. All the communication is back to normal.I saw Columbus is still operation as usual . If you can not get contact drop your message to my mail and I will send your info to Columbus by fax or any other ways.

Asian Trails, Tour Mandalay also reliable company. If you can not get contact , I will recomment you another company. So, don%26#39;t disappoint.

As mention above, don%26#39;t delay too.
